Working in a museum has given Leigh Ann an awareness of the history, geology, and historic culture of the Hudson Valley. Its rolling hills, mountains, waterways, and historic buildings provide endless inspiration. She strives to convey her individual experiences of intimate connection to the landscape in her paintings and drawings through the process of keen observation and interpretation.
Her sense of design and color is informed by her graphic design experience and the study of art varying styles of art, including the Canadian Group of Seven and the design of Japanese kimonos.
She has studied with master artists Sherrie McGraw, Kathleen Dunphy, Kevin McPherson, Deborah Paris, James Coe, James Cramer, Keith Gunderson, and other artists from the Plein Air Painters of America.
